Guests

How many guests can come to a Barefoot ceremony?

Barefoot is designed for small. Here's an honest look at what different guest sizes actually feel like on a Phuket beach — and where a simple ceremony stops being simple.

Beach ceremonies feel their best when the group is small. The setting does the work — no chair rows, no marquee, no seating chart. Below is how each size genuinely plays out, so you can pick the one that matches your day.

Just the two of you

The most common Barefoot booking. Two people, a celebrant, two witnesses arranged by us if needed, and a photographer. Deeply personal, unhurried, and often the most emotional version of the day.

Two to six guests

Immediate family or closest friends. Everyone stands around you barefoot on the sand. No chairs required. Photography naturally captures everyone. This is what most people picture when they think of a beach wedding.

Seven to ten guests

Still very much the Barefoot format, but worth adding a few extras: our set of eight timber chairs for older guests, and possibly an extra photography hour. Transport becomes a small piece to organise — we help with that. See extras for what's available.

More than ten guests — a different kind of wedding

Once you're past ten, you're really planning a small event, not just a ceremony. You start needing: more chairs, more transport vehicles, a plan for where everyone eats afterwards, group coordination on the day, and often a dedicated reception venue. That's genuinely a different job, and Barefoot isn't built for it.

If that sounds like your wedding, we'd honestly point you to our sister team at Unique Phuket Wedding Planners. They handle bespoke Phuket weddings — venues, receptions, larger guest lists — properly. You'll have a better day with the right team.

A note on the feel

The point of a Barefoot ceremony is calm. The whole reason couples book it is to avoid the group-management side of a bigger wedding. If you're weighing "should we invite a few more?", it's worth asking what you actually want the day to feel like — and choosing accordingly.
