From abroad

Can you really book a Phuket wedding online, from home?

Yes — and Barefoot is built specifically for that. Here's exactly how it works when you're planning from another country and can't fly in early.

Most couples marrying on a Phuket beach are booking from somewhere else entirely — the UK, Australia, Singapore, the US, the Middle East. You've probably never been to Phuket, you can't visit the beach in advance, and you'd like to know the ceremony is genuinely handled before you get on the plane. That is exactly the brief Barefoot was designed for.

Step one — book the date online, in about two minutes

International couple planning their Phuket beach wedding online from home
Most of our couples book from home — no long email threads.

Pick a date on the booking page, pay a 20% deposit by card, and the date is reserved. You get a proper written confirmation immediately. No back-and-forth emails, no waiting for a planner to respond in another time zone.

Step two — a short video call with Supparin

Once booked, Supparin sets up a short video call at a time that works for your time zone. It's deliberately not a long planning session — it's a chance to meet the person handling your day, ask questions, share preferences, and feel calmly reassured. See about Supparin for the person behind every ceremony.

Step three — final balance one month before

You pay the remaining 80% by card one month before the ceremony, along with any optional extras. Full breakdown on the payment schedule page.

Step four — arrive and turn up barefoot

On the day, transport picks you up from your hotel. Supparin is on the beach before you. The celebrant is briefed, the flowers are placed, the permit is in hand, the photographer is ready. You walk up, marry each other, and walk back. It really is that simple.

An honest planning-from-abroad checklist

A short list you can actually work from — grouped by when it matters. Most items take minutes, not hours.

As soon as you book

  • Reserve your date with the 20% deposit and save the confirmation email.
  • Block flights around the ceremony date — arrive at least two nights before.
  • Book a hotel you'd enjoy on a normal holiday (this doubles as your honeymoon base).
  • Schedule the video call with Supparin at a time that works in your time zone.

Two to three months before

  • Sort marriage registration at home if you want it legal (see the legal question).
  • Order rings — allow shipping and any engraving lead time.
  • Decide on outfits — light, breathable fabrics; nothing that trails badly in sand or wind.
  • Check your passport has at least six months' validity beyond travel.
  • Look at travel insurance that covers destination weddings.

One month before

  • Pay the 80% balance and any optional extras.
  • Send any personal vows or readings you'd like the celebrant to include.
  • Book dinner for after the ceremony — Kan Eang @ Pier or a favourite of yours.
  • Tell your bank about the trip so cards work on arrival.

The week of the ceremony

  • Pack rings, outfits and any small keepsakes in your hand luggage — not checked.
  • Stay hydrated; the flight and heat catch people out.
  • Confirm the pickup time from your hotel with Supparin.
  • Leave the day after the wedding entirely open. You will want it.

What to wear on a Phuket beach

Choose fabrics that move — chiffon, silk, light cotton, linen. Heavy lace, long trains and structured suits are uncomfortable in humidity and don't behave well on sand. See the wardrobe guidance in best time of year for month-by-month specifics.

How far in advance should we book?

  • November to March (high season): two to six months ahead.
  • April: four to eight weeks is usually fine.
  • May to October (green season): four to eight weeks — sometimes shorter for last-minute couples.

If you want a specific sunset date in high season, book earlier. Those slots go first.

What if we want something bigger?

If you're planning a multi-day event with a reception, guest coordination, room blocks and styled venue, Barefoot isn't the right fit. That level of planning from abroad benefits from a proper bespoke planner — our sister team at Unique Phuket Wedding Planners handles exactly that.
